Purpose: Get the files you'll need for your class. This will bring in all files you'll need that are in your book
and create a folder for your class. Read the instructions for steps 2-4 below
before you click the link in step 1.
- Click on the link below for your class.
- When prompted, click the Save button. If
prompted, save to the desktop (click Desktop at the left of your screen or
choose Desktop in the Save in list.
- Then click Run or go to the desktop (click Start, My Documents,
and My Desktop on the left) and double-click the downloaded exe
file (Office1StudentFiles or other file for your class).
- When the WinZip Self-Extractor program runs, click the Browse button and then navigate to
C:\Firstname Lastname (you should have created this in an earlier
common assignment), click OK and then click Unzip.
Backup or Copy your Class files (You will do this at
the end of each day).
- Click Start, My Documents.
- In the Address box type C:\Firstname Lastname.
- Right-click on the folder that is the name for your new class and choose
Copy.
- In the Other Places section at the left, click on My Documents.
- Right-click in a blank area and choose Paste. If you've already
done this once, you'll have to choose Yes to All.
This copies all of your files for your class to My Documents which is the
area I grade your work. Do these each
time you want to make a backup of your work. This means after every difficult
file, make sure you copy the information using this procedure.
You're almost done. Send me an email.
- Send me an email with the subject of Finished Download and Files Copied.
- In the message type (or copy), "I've downloaded my class files,
created a Firstname Lastname folder on C: and backed up my class files My
Documents.
- Don't forget to type your first and last name at the bottom and send me the email.
